Mini Grants

FOUNDATION MISSION:  The Linden Educational Foundation (LEF) goals are to develop and implement educational programs for the students of the Linden Unified School District that enhance the educational experience that would otherwise be unavailable.  Grants should supplement and enhance the curriculum, or foster ethical, social, and intellectual development, that nurture student's capacities to think skillfully, and critically, and that promote commitments to life-long education, creativity, and personal responsibility and respect for others.

WHAT IS THE LINDEN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION MINI-GRANT PROGRAM?
In addition to providing scholarships for Linden High School seniors, the LEF supports innovative programs at the classroom and/or site level.  Teachers may apply for mini-grants of up to $1000 to develop and implement programs which enrich the student experience.  LEF mini-grants should be used to benefit students in the school year received.  Equipment purchased under this grant will remain the property of the school.

WHEN IS THE APPLICATION DUE?
Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis until funds are depleted.  Applications submitted after March 1 will be reviewed and if approved, will be distributed for the following school year.

WHEN ARE THE GRANTS AWARDED?
The LEF will review applications, evaluate them for compliance with the aforementioned criteria, benefit to students, and clarity.  Applications will be reviewed and voted on within two meetings after receipt of application.  Mini-grant recipients will be notified after approval by the Linden Educational Foundation Board.
