Check your students hair once a week for lice

Winter Time is Bug Time

This is the time of year for our not so dear friend the LOUSE to show up! It's super important to check your students head several times a week for the small wingless parasitic insect that live on the skin of mammals and birds. Encourage your student to NOT SHARE hats, hoodies, brushes/combs. This will help detour the spread. If you suspect that your child does have lice, notify your school and treat with an over the counter lice medicated shampoo. Please read directions carefully-the shampoo only works if used correctly. If you're feeling overwhelmed and need support call our office 887.8308 or 323.0005
It's that time of year again!
The head louse, or Pediculus humanus captitis, is a parasite insect that can be found on the human head. Head lice feed on human blood several times a day and live close to the scalp. Head lice are not known to carrie disease. Head lice are spread by direct contact with someone who is infected. Remind your students  not to share Batting Helmets, Hats, Combs and Brushes, or Hoodies. Check your students hair weekly for lice, if you find lice or nits use a reputable product specifically for lice.
