National School Breakfast Week
March 4-8, 2024
Loren Werth from Food 4 Thought visited both Glenwood and Waverly schools on September 19th. He did nutrition education, and the students were allowed to "buy" local fruits and vegetables with some very specialized "Mascot Bucks". Food 4 Thought is our main produce vendor for local fruits and vegetables. Because of Food 4 Thought we are able to receive fresh local produce from vendors all over the northern California region.
LHS Farm Day
On April 27, 2023 the Linden High School FFA staff and students hosted a Farm Day for students in TK-3rd grades. Students were able to come to Linden High School and have hands on experience with farm animals, see farm equipment, and learn about agriculture. The Food Service department utilized "Big Blue" to serve students lunch.
Farm to School Garden 2023
PRIDE High School has a garden behind the District Office. They are growing strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, melons, zucchini, and herbs. Once harvested, these fruits, vegetables and herbs will be used for taste testing and added to meals.
Thank you Fuel Up To Play 60 and Aaron Judge and his family for donating a "Grab And Go Breakfast Cart". The cart can be used for both breakfast and lunch and will be an amazing addition to Linden High School!
The unveiling was March 5th, 2019 at nutrition break, thank you for everyone who made the event a success!
