Wellness Policy Update

Wellness Policy

Linden Unified School District is currently seeking staff members, parents/guardians, coaches, and community members to join our Wellness Committee.

The committee will review the current District Wellness Policy and District Scorecard and collaborate on updates that further support the overall health and wellness of both students and staff throughout the district.

If you are interested in joining the committee, please review the LUSD Wellness Policy, District Scorecard, and the current Wellness Policy. After reviewing the documents, please contact the Food Service Office at 209-887-8339 or email Hope Brand at LUSD Wellness Policy and Scorecard.

Please note: Participants must be able to commit to attending three meetings before the end of the school year.

Additional breakfast items not listed on the menu;

  • Fresh Seasonal Fruit, Can Fruit and 100% Fruit Juice
  • Whole Grain Cereal or Pop-Tarts 
  • Milk: Low Fat 1% or Fat Free

*For students to receive a free meal, they must take a required ½ cup of fruit or vegetable for both breakfast and lunch
 
All sites have a Salad Bar that can include a variety of;

  • Romaine Salad, Spinach, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Baby Carrots, Beans/Legumes, and additional Seasonal Vegetables
  • Fresh Seasonal Fruit, Canned or Frozen Fruit Cup 
  • Milk Choices: Low Fat 1% and Fat Free Chocolate
